Bulletstorm gets PC Demo; Fox News Battles RPS

First off, if you haven’t been following the whole “Bulletstorm causes rape” story — consider yourself lucky. Still, it’s fun reading all the same. It’s like TMZ day here today isn’t it?

Keep in mind, I am not one of those gamers who blindly turns away when someone tries to tell me that violent video games may cause violent behavior. It very well may do that, I honestly don’t know. I know I haven’t decided to drive my Cadillac Eldorado* over an old woman who was trying to cross the street but the day’s not over yet! But I’m not qualified to really say either way. All that said, you really should read the latest piece over at RPS about the Fox News blow up over the game. This is not a politics blog and we are not going to ever turn it into one.

But…damn.

Oh, yeah, and in other news a PC demo was confirmed today (to be released shortly after the game’s release) so PC users will get to see what all the fuss is about before launching their soul into the Bulletstorm abyss. You sickos.

*I do not own a Cadillac Eldorado. I drive a 2005 PT Cruiser because I have no shame or manhood left in me. My wife has captured both.

I’m really glad the fine folks at RPS are duking it out with Fox. Too many people are just ignoring Fox, which I suppose is more healthy than getting an aneurysm every time they spew their ignorant crap (which is pretty much all the time), but they really need to be called out on from time to time.

“This is not a politics blog and we are not going to ever turn it into one.” Perhaps you just want to reassure people of it and I understand that in America there is this harsh political climate. Nonetheless, I don’t think the political side of FOX matters in this case; it’s more of a social or cultural issue anyway. All this is, is an example of poor journalism and RPS is trying their best to tackle it.
I am simply wondering if you had made the same statement if it had been any other media outlet (something like the New York Times, or CNN, or The Guardian), or if people perceive any statement about FOX as inherently politically motivated.

Anywho, I am glad the Bulletstorm guys came to their senses and provide a demo. I don’t care if PC gets it sooner or later, but this is the kind of game where I really need to have a hands-on taste of it to see if I like it. Videos and reviews don’t cut it.
