Greetings, Super Bowl revelers. Hopefully you didn’t get too drunk last night as being hung over on a work day is never a good thing. As much as I hate the Ravens, I’m glad that they won as I didn’t want to be accosted with an endless number of stories about how the power outage caused the Ravens to screw up. That and San Fran’s coach annoyed me.
Oh, and did you see that Fast and Furious 6 trailer? Best. Movie. Ever.
New Releases

Dead Space 3 (360, PS3
, PC
) drops today, co-op necromorph fun in toe. What are the odds that your co-op partner is a figment of Isaac’s imagination? I put it at 2 to 1.

Fire Emblem: Awakening has perma-death, which always sounds like a good idea until you’re the one perma-dying, frantically diving for the power switch to prevent the demise of your beloved characters. I’ll stick to respawn points.

Of all of the games releasing this week, I would not have figured Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3, Vita
) as being the least available from GameFly. People love themselves some thievus raccoonuses I guess. I would have liked to see how this whole cross play thing worked out, but alas, not so much that I was willing to turn down the cash from selling my Vita before developers completely abandoned it.
Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 is a game about an angry guy named Ken who has a fist, and maybe a star. Honestly, I have no idea.

I got Fire Emblem early as privilege for living in Canada, so nothing for me this week.
Sly 4 and DS3 are bargain binners. I want to play them but am unwilling to pay full price.
I am currently locked into a death spiral with Picross 3D; only one of us will have survived by the time this week is over.
Oh man, Picross 3D. What a game. I loved that game!
Both Dead Space 3 and Sly 4 are on their way via GameFly, but alas, my new toy is keeping me occupied, so I don’t know how much I’ll play. More on the toy later this week.
Jealous of your gamefly service
.
Picross 3D is amazing, but I got it in my head to finish every last damn puzzle and it’s proving much more time-intensive than I expected.
Naturally I also grabbed a used copy of Picross DS to follow up with after the first is done…
My wife looooved that game. I was always hoping they’d make a second one. There’s an IPAD app that’s similar that’s OK, but it only took her like 3 days to finish it.
I’ll be keeping an eye on the Sly Cooper reviews. I loved the second two PS2 games — never played the first — but there’s something about pricing the new game at $40 *and* providing free Vita copies with every purchase that makes me cautious.
Rayman Legends was delayed until September and they added PS3 and 360 versions. I have never been so devastated by a delay in my life. I’ll be in the corner crying for the next 7-8 months if anybody needs me.
