With Bill off at GenCon, the Hour of Power returns this week (like it’s ever gone away) as Brandon and I get down and get funky with our bad ass selves. I talk in detail about my new job. It’s drab. It’s dull. And it involves saying, “Papers, Please” over and over and over again. Yet it’s oddly addictive and rewarding. Weird. Brandon is in his Sony Vita happy place with some more Ni No Kuni and a potpourri of time with some other titles (that I honestly can’t remember – sorry). Then there’s some discussion about the continuation of the Microsoft 180 and how I –surprise, surprise– called it from the very beginning. It’s my annual chance to be right about something and I don’t want it going by unnoticed, dammit!

Including the soon-to-be released Black Flag, I think the Assassin’s Creed series has Saints Row beat for the most sequels released on a single platform. If the question is about which series reinvented itself more often or more effectively, though, I agree with Brandon that Saints Row wins that contest hands down.

Regarding the Tom Cruise movie Oblivion, I think that movie earned a bad rap because it had one of the most spoileriffic trailers of all time. It blatantly gives away the first two-thirds of the movie. Skipping all the advertisements turned out to be a really good decision for me, because if I’d been robbed of any sense of discovery about how that movie was going to unfold, I’d have just been bored to tears.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed the idea of Todd decompressing from his day job by proofreading documentation.

Bummed that TV Time didn’t make the cut in the latest episode. I suppose that if Todd isn’t watching Breaking Bad or The Good Wife and Brandon isn’t watching The Newsroom, there wouldn’t be much back and forth. Hopefully when Agents of SHIELD premieres, we’ll finally have a series that combines Todd’s addiction to snappy dialogue, Brandon’s love of superheroes, and Bill’s ability to have completely unpredictable, yet inexplicably reasonable opinions on everything.

‘Bill’s ability to have completely unpredictable, yet inexplicably reasonable opinions on everything.’

That’s me. Jack of all trades master of none
