The terrible trio is back for episode #187. This week Bill and his once sweet and innocent daughter spend 400 Days walking with the dead and comes out of the experience forever changed. (No, seriously, he’s getting her into Left 4 Dead now too. This is a Pandora’s Box that can never be closed.) Meanwhile in Brandon’s world, The Saints have come marching in, for the fourth time no less. They just won’t stop marching. Find out just why Brandon thinks Saints Row IV is every bit worth it’s $60 price tag. And me? After 39 years on this planet, I have finally embraced the one true faith. Sure, I created it in Civilization 5, but the Church of Pi is not to be denied and I have spread it to the farthest reaches of my digital world. Plus, there are food and happiness bonuses and how can you argue with that? This much, plus some Breaking Bad, and even more this week on Jumping the Shark!

Another solid show. I gotta say I enjoy listening to you guys, whether it’s the BCSHoP or the whole crew.

In response to Todd’s question over whether Saints Row IV offers enough new content to earn its place as a full-priced numbered sequel, my answer is absolutely yes. Much of the side content is completely new, like the tower scaling, rift hopping, and the telekinesis challenges. A few things, like taking on waves of enemies, are nominally unchanged, but the addition of super powers allows them to play out much differently. Dudes taking cover behind a parked car are easier to deal with when you can kick the vehicle over on them.

At ten hours in, I’m still unlocking new game play features. My character just gained the ability to electrify projectiles with her mind. The challenge list also references “Death from Above” takedowns which I either have not acquired, or simply haven’t figured out how to do.

Barnes is surely right that Saints Row IV will be $20 by January. That’s good news for patient folks, because the $35 I paid to play it on Steam at release feels like an absolute steal.

Death from Above will come with time, don’t worry.
