Dragon Age 2 Demo Out Now

No High Scores

Today is February 22nd which means the Dragon Age 2 demo should be hitting the interwebs as the day goes on. Xbox owners can already download the demo, provided they have a gold account and the patience to download a 2GB file. The PC demo should release later today with the PS3 version coming tomorrow. Todd and Bill are both vehemently against demos, claiming that they don’t want the game ruined for them but I have it on good authority that they hate everything fun including puppies and sunshine. Todd even hates dessert for Pete’s sake. The man can’t be trusted! I’ll definitely grab the demo, however finding time to play it is another matter entirely.

  1. I rather enjoyed the demo. Unfortunately they had the ability to change your equipment turned off in the inventory. That and you have to go with the default male/female version of Hawk.

  2. Whoa. Whoa! Whoa!!! I never said they ruin the game for me. That’s a viscous exaggeration; I just typically already know when I want to play a game so demos are largely wasted on me. But it’s true, I don’t care for dessert. It’s all sweets and sugary nonsense. Give me some salt. Chips and salsa, that’s what I want before after and during dinner. You should get me a good salsa recipe for a future Don’t Shoot the Food.

  3. There a love interest NPC in the game you only get for completing the demo? What the hell is that? Bioware, I’m going to play your game. I don’t need the frigg’n demo. Quit punishing me for not wanting to partake of every silly promotional gimmick you squirt out with the aim of selling ever more units to the masses. (Or am I overreacting w/o full grasp of the facts?)

    Sigh.

  4. I don’t have the money for all these games that are coming out. I think I may have to pass on Dragon Age 2 for now. Hell, I still have to play Fable 3, and New Vegas.

  5. Actually, upon reading the link it sounds like it’s just a couple of items you can get.

“Upon completion of the demo, players will unlock a special weapon, Hayder’s Razor, an ancient dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities, in the full release of Dragon Age 2.**”

The reference to the romantic interest and questline appear to be just descriptions of what parts of the game are in the demo as opposed to something you unlock for playing it. Or am I missing something?

  6. Yes, I think so. As I read the whole the demo take is the prologue of the DAII.
Also the key is “Upon completion of the demo, players will unlock…”. It is also clarified in the legalese of the double asterisk.
