Might&Magic Heroes VI Combat Video

YouTube video

Behold a brand new six minute combat video between a Haven army and a Necropolis army in Might & Magic Heroes VI. I’m a crazed fan of this series in all of its incarnations except for the much maligned 4th game, so seeing a video like this relaxes me and takes me back to a time* when I played games for enjoyment rather than being a jaded game critic.

*This was that time.

  1. Nothing new here. The combat is the same as V.The hero is not in initiative bar,because…..to be like III?Nice motivation Why change something just for the sake of change. Its minor things like this that bugs me.Overall its look promising,i like what they do with Mark of chaos so got fate that the game is in good hands.

  2. My favorite game I played on my Windows 98 PC. That and Diablo II were staples of that generation of gaming. If I could I would still be playing M&M III, but it had compatibility issues with XP

  3. HOMM just isn’t doing it for me anymore. And with Disciples III being such a letdown …

But, we’ll see. They may do some interesting things with the overland map and whatnot, but this type of combat doesn’t hold too much interest for me anymore.

  4. To be honest apart from HoMM 2, I thought the first campaign of Heroes IV was the best imho, the one with the Genie being your main enemy, can’t remember the name (or whether it actually was the first one). It was the first HoMM where I really got pulled into the game, HoMM 2 was mediocre to good at that and III and V were just plain clichéd and frankly boring in the storyline department.
Never ever played multi as coop usually isn’t possible, and I think luck is too big a part of the game for a fun VS.

  5. Probably will be a day one purchase that I will kick myself for later, but I agree with Disciples III being a letdown and I need to pray that this game can fill my turn based fantasy game needs. Probably enjoyed HoMM3 most, but that is mostly due to the Fortress army being my favorite of all time.

  6. I’ve been here from day one, though I was my usual lurker self. But hey, might as well talk a little bit around here too, isn’t that right?
