Lots of videos today. I think this is actually a day or two old, but I know Danielle loves a good tower defense game and Barnes hates anything with stereotypical orcs in it so — win win!
The gist is this, according to Robot Entertainment, edited for hyperbole.
Orcs Must Die! challenges players to defend fortresses under siege. With a wide variety of traps and weapons to choose from, Orcs Must Die! dares players to find the best ways to hack, launch, flatten, gibletize, and incinerate an endless army of filthy orcs and their vile allies. Orcs Must Die! features a vibrant look, addictive gameplay, and a blatant disregard for the welfare of orcs.
I think the video pretty much says it all. For more info check out the main website: https://www.robotentertainment.com/games/orcsmustdie
Then I don’t know what is!
Hey, while we’re on the subject of hyperbole…I don’t hate ALL games with Orcs in them. The new D&D game, Wrath of Ashardalon has Orcs in it and I love it, for example. I just hate that fantasy has become completely stuck on these post-post-post-Tolkien racial archetypes. OK, I hate a lot of generic fantasy. “Some” but not “all”. FINE! “Most”…
Let’s let the NoHS readership discover for itself about my deep, seething hatred for many (OK, OK! MOST) geek sacred cows, such as Felicia Day, anything to do with Joss Whedon, and Monty Python references.
Oops…shit…I guess someone’s going to start a petition…
Because if Tecmo’s Deception has taught us anything, it is that watching NPCs run into traps over and over again can get kind of boring when it’s just one or two NPCs at a time.
This looks like fun with a couple of friends.
I don’t normally enjoy reading press releases, but I heartily endorse the NHS editing for hyperbole procedure. Much more palatable!
I’m assuming this game doesn’t have a multiplayer feature, but that would be awesome if it did.
A couple of friends and I have been playing Iron Grip: Warlord, and while that game is quite fun, it could use a lot of polish. I hope we get more games in this shooter/tower defense mash-up genre, especially with multiplayer!
