As creepy as I find this game, I’m getting more and more interested in it as time goes on, simply from the visual style alone. The enemy design looks to be completely off the wall and I love the little touches like the wake of butterflies when Alice dodges and the fact that her appearance changes while in Hysteria mode. Hopefully the gameplay will be on par with the visual style and we’ll have good third person romp on our hands.
Oh Alice, how I’ve missed you…
This game, while updated to today’s tech (flowing hair and all), is missing a little je ne sais quoi. And quite honestly, I think it’s probably because of the lack of American McGee. The first game had this storybook charm that was twisted into something so strange and dark that it was unlike anything I had ever played at that time. Such a brilliant game.
