This is definitely on the list of games I want to play this summer. PR Ahead:
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Supergiant Games are pleased to announce that Bastion, the award-winning* Action-RPG for Xbox Live Arcade, will be premiering on July 20th, the first title to be released for the Microsoft Summer of Arcade lineup. The downloadable title will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points.
Bastion received seven award wins and nine nominations coming out of E3, including Best Downloadable Game, Best Original Game, and Game of Show. The game invites players to take control of a character known as the Kid, who is thrust into a world that has crumbled around him. Players must now create a safe haven in order to build a new world from the remnants of the past. Bastion will also be available for PC later this year.

*”Award Winning” here is stretching things a tad. E3 awards – they don’t count. Don’t get me wrong, I want to play Bastion, but are we seriously calling games award winning before they’re released now? That’s some serious PR-wrangling.
I’m defintely on board for this. This year’s Summer of Arcade titles in general look great, apart from Fruit Ninja Kinect. From Dust in particular looks like it’s going to be great.
But yeah, E3 awards. Give me a effin’ break. That’s like saying “people liked our trailer and marketing material”.
Of course, if “critics” and “journalists” wouldn’t GIVE bullshit awards like that they wouldn’t turn up in PR…
Game looks sweet as hell. Can’t wait til July 20th.
