Transformer: Fall of Cybertron is shaping up to be one of my most anticipated titles of the year, and a lot of it has to do with that big, fire breathing fella up there. I know that loving a robot that turns into a dinosaur and back again puts me firmly in the 5th grader camp, but in this case, I don’t care.
When I was a kid, I loved all of my Transformers but the Dinobots and Insecticons held a special place in my heart. They were so out there. I mean, trucks and planes made sense what with the whole, robots in disguise thing, but robots that turned into bugs or dinosaurs? That made zero sense. Luckily, when it comes to kids, toys and cartoons, sense can well and truly sod off.
My only concern is that the Insecticons will be treated as grunts and trash mobs and I don’t want them to be only that. We need to get Shrarpnel, Bombshell and Kickback all up in this joint, even if they end up on the end of Grimlock’s sword. Plus, if we get Dinobots and Insecticons in Fall of Cybertron, it stands to reason we’ll get new Dinobot and Insecticon toys and that would be awesome.

Wasn’t that some shit in the Transformers movie when the Insecticons were all broke down, laying in the floor on Astrotrain and Megatron just throws them out in space?
The Dinobots are amazing…but I hated that “Me Grimlock” crap.
Also, Aerialbots. God, I loved Superion.
As for the game, the first one was OK, I hope in this one there’s more to do than skate around and shoot in a bunch of samey levels.
And FFS, put the Transformers’ theme song in there.
Actually, it was Starscream. And he threw Megatron out too, as he was busted all to hell from his fight with Optimus. The Inecticons were then reformatted by Unicron into Cyclonus/Scourge/the Sweeps, while Megatron became Galvatron.
Is it awesome or sad that I can remember that offhand?
I am just as excited for a new Grimlock toy. Maybe we’ll even get Shockwave too.
Oh yeah, that’s right…it’s been a while since I’ve seen it.
I _do_ remember how Starscream put on a cape and a crown when he took over, which is just awesome.
The funny thing is that all of that robot death was really just a way for Hasbro to shunt off the old toy line and introduce the new one.
