As per this 50 second tease trailer: the game will release on August 28th, 2012. As much as traditional MMOs hold little interest to me these days, I’m very likely to play Guild Wars 2. I know Brian is excited to play this one so mark your calenders and watch us get man handled come August.
I’m forever torn between my dislike of MMOs and my love of character building. But given the price, it may be worth a peek.
Brian is not the only one.
But this makes August a pretty busy month in terms of “games I want”. Darksiders 2 (August 21), Dark Souls (August 24), Guild Wars 2 (August 28). I should probably take September off, I guess.
I’m in. Guild Wars not using the monthly fee model needs supported. Hopefully it feels more open world and less instanced adventure than the first one.
I don’t know if I’m ready for an MMO but I’m ready to try again.
It is pretty much completely open world, with the exception of dungeons, PvP, and your personal story missions. From my beta experiences, it feels like a real MMO and not an instanced multiplayer game.
Oh and we should try to get a guild together.
That’s an intriguing idea. I would definitely join a No High Scores GW2 guild (as you can join more than one guild in GW2 – I don’t plan to ever leave the guild I’ve been a member of since 2007). I may even create it if that’s what it takes.
My server in the betas has been Steamspur Mountains, IIRC. I’ll choose the server my main guild chooses when the game is out, though, which will most likely be the same. Feel free to look for me there.
Good idea. I’m in.
How did this turn out? Is there a nohighscore guild right now?
