If you haven’t adventured with the Kid yet, or you just have a thing for gaming on mobile devices, Bastion from Supergiant Games is landing in the App Store for iPad tomorrow, August 30. This release of Bastion will include Stranger’s Dream (DLC for PC and Xbox 360), retuned weapons and Proving Grounds, Retina compatibility, and options for either gamepad-style controls or touchscreen controls.
You can check out the trailer after the break.

Might be tempted by this. I tried the Bastion demo on the 360 and enjoyed it, but found the text unreadable on my SD TV set.
It really is a fantastic game. Not to spoil anything but there is a moment in the game where I just stopped to listen to the music (the first song with lyrics, gives me chills). The soundtrack is uniformly fantastic, this coming from a guy who generally doesn’t like game music.
This is the only game I wish I could forget everything so I could experience it again for the first time. It’s that great.
I have it on Steam, and I wish I would get credit (somehow) for buying it on one platform when it comes out on another. This applies to all the other cross-platform games out there, as well.
This. Many times over.
Just picked this up… ’cause why not, I guess. Definitely a different experience using the controls (10 minutes in). Will have to see how well it goes when I get into some more difficult areas. The flavor of the game is entirely intact, I’m happy to say.
Five bucks? Don’t mind if I do.
