Ok, there’s pretty much nothing coming out this week. I mean, sure, there are some PC releases, a new map pack for Halo 4, some Assassins Creed 3 DLC and a terrible James Bond game for the Wii U, but the real reason to head out the store this week is the retail release of Telltale’s The Walking Dead. All five episodes are collected and sure, at thirty bucks it’s five bucks more than buying the episodes individually online, but hey, at least you get a swanky case for your game and, uh, I don’t know, the satisfaction of propping up brick and mortar establishments everywhere? Whatever. Go play it. It’s awesome and if you’re an achievement/trophy junkie, you can get all of the awards just by playing the game.

So quiet.
Wife and I are playing Borderlands 2. Halo 4 with a friend. Downtime spent bashing out the last few achievements left in Sleeping Dogs, which is still one of the best games I played this year.
Love that game. Killed a dude with a fish the other day. Now I know how Aquaman feels.
Game deserves a sequel just because of that achievement.
I am finding the umbrella kill much harder to master.
I also appreciate that races are tough but not impossible if you have the right cars. I could never stand that about the GTA series.
The races in GTA IV were laughably easy because the AI was so inept. Most of the time the AI drivers would take every turn at 180 and all you had to do was drive a clean race and pass the pileups. I have only done a few races in Sleeping Dogs. Just enough to know that my one car and one motorcycle won’t cut it.
I’m pretty much done with Bastion and have just a few levels left on New Super Mario Bros U to get the star coins on, after that I still have not decided what to play. I was thinking JRPG but now I’m not sure. My mood changes to quickly to get anything done.
Maybe I’ll give Darksiders another chance? I want to play Metro 2033 but I will need to upgrade my computer first…maybe that’s just the excuse I need though? We’ll see.
How far did you go in Darksiders?
Really doesn’t get rocking until the first dungeon. Love that game though. A lot.
Persona 4 is still better though ??
I did not get very far at all. It’s my biggest problem with games, I have a hard time getting through that intro section in most games, but once I get through it I can sit and play for hours.
Persona is still being considered, but just the thought of how long it is may put me off. I played Xenoblade for ~100 hours and could not finish and that is very depressing. Maybe I’ll go back and finish that, and just ignore everything that is not the main story.
Darksiders is okay to start, then kicks into high gear :).
My problem is refusing to let anything go until I finish :P.
Persona’s only 60 hours or so, provided you grind the bare minimum needed to win the game. I have no idea how people sank that much time into XC. I enjoyed it to the end, but I gave up doing the relationship quests and any side quests that required serious effort. Life was just too short :).
I just started The Walking Dead on Sunday to help fill the gap of no new episodes, and I’ll probably play through one episode a week until I’m done. On the off days, I’m still having a great time with Dishonored, Assassin’s Creed 3, and bouts of Torchlight II.
Oh, and congratulations to Dirk and Bill for making their Kickstarter goal with 28-days to spare!
