EA and Games Workshop Play Nice

You may recall last week when we mentioned that EA and Games Workshop were going to likely discuss how the new C&C free to play game, Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances, borrowed heavily from the design of some old 40K Ork tanks.

They discussed.

Here’s the official scuttlebutt from EA:

“Games Workshop and EA are aware of the IP issues around the artwork in question, which have now been resolved. The artwork was internal EA concept art that was unintentionally released publicly. No Warhammer 40,000 tanks have ever made an appearance in Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances, and never will. Games Workshop and EA continue to have a strong relationship working together…”

Allow me to translate:

Games Workshop and EA were in a room. Games Workshop pointed to the chap in the corner with the briefcase and the “We Love Litigation” t-shirt and EA said, “Yeah, sorry. We were just spitballin. We’d never actually do that.”
