MechWarrior Tactics Gameplay Video and Info

YouTube video

Here’s a link to the website:

A PC turn based game in the BattleTech universe with custom mechs fighting it out on a 3d battlefield? Woo hoo. That’s the good news. The bad news? This is another Free to Play game with no single player campaign in sight with a ‘collectible’ feature. Those buzz words send off alarms in my head.

Sure does look neat, though.

Here’s a blurb from a recent interview:

Though they weren’t ready to talk prices, Williams and Cleroux stated that mech’s weapons and customizations will be distributed via booster packs, which can be bought with in-game currency or real-world cash. Items will come in common, uncommon, rare, and ultrarare varieties, just like Magic the Gathering. We were a bit confused when we were told that there wouldn’t be any item trading at launch, though Cleroux did hint at an auction house system to be implemented later down the line. We would’ve liked to see these kinds of systems implemented at launch – nobody wants to buy dozens of boosters in the hopes of getting the one item that they need.

Sine Mora and the Unfortunate Trailer

YouTube video

Although I’m not very familiar with Digital Reality, I love shmups and Grasshopper Manufacture. So, I should be excited for Sine Mora, but this trailer…is obnoxiously aggravating.

Who set the fade-switch to extreme overkill?

Now I’m torn. Is the gameplay of Sine Mora so terrible that it has to be disguised, or is this just an unfortunately poorly crafted trailer? We’ll find out March 21 when Sine Mora lands on XBLA.

FemShep Finally Gets a Bit of the Mass Effect 3 Trailer Spotlight

YouTube video

A couple weeks ago I was complaining about how bog standard boring the multiplayer trailer of Mass Effect 3 looked. This is more like it, and not just because it’s finally FemShep taking center stage. (Honestly, she looks a bit odd to me, but maybe I’m just used to my version.) Could still use just a couple more clips that make with the talky, but this makes me want to gear up and play some Mass 3. More please.

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Trailer

I am, mercifully, back home. After a week abroad and a week largely off the grid in Boston, I feel like I have no idea what’s happening in the gaming world. Was there something about an Xbox 720? Surely, we’re just calling it that right? And something with SOPA happened, I guess, that was, for once, a good thing. Is it really dead or is it like Monty Python dead and will soon refuse to be taken away on the cart? It’s all too much, and not just because I can’t breath through my nose today.

Right. Anyway. There’s this Mass Effect 3 multiplayer trailer. By virtue of the fact that it’s advertising the one thing in Mass Effect 3 I’m least interested in playing, combined with me being in a grumbly mood in general, I look at this and think, “Wow. That blows.” It probably doesn’t. It’s just so damn amped up on ACTION that you risk spraining something merely by watching it. These sorts of things don’t impress me. After the break I’m putting in the launch trailer from Mass 2. That was good. I liked that. Hey, Bioware, let’s have another one of those when launch day approaches in just over a month, okay?

Mmmm. Makes me want to play it all over again.
